Principal's Message

O.J. Gaines, II has been in the education field for twenty one years. He is a graduate of Provine High School in Jackson, MS.  He received a Bachelor's degree in Science and Technology from THEE Jackson State University, a Master's degree in Art and Teaching from William Carey University, and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Gaines began his career as a teacher in the Jackson Public School District, where he coached boys basketball at Hardy Middle School and Provine High School. With a wealth of experience in education, his journey is not just a career, it’s a calling to be an educator, fueled by an unwavering passion for children. Mr. Gaines has served as a teacher, basketball coach, and assistant principal before becoming principal here at Gautier Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.
